1. Introduction

NoteNote (“we”, “our”, “us”) is designed to let two users share notes and drawings through a temporary, QR/code-based pairing system. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application (“App”).

2. No Account Registration

NoteNote does not require you to create an account, register with an email address, choose a username, or provide any personal information. The App works entirely through short-lived QR codes and matching codes.

3. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimal information needed to make the App function.

3.1 Temporary Technical Identifiers

When you use the App, a random temporary identifier may be created locally on your device. This identifier:

is not linked to your identity,
is used only to establish and maintain a match channel,
is deleted automatically when the match expires or ends.

3.2 Matching Code

A 6-character matching code generated by your device
Expires automatically after approximately 30 seconds
Used only to pair you with another user

3.3 Content You Create

Text notes you create
Drawings or images you create
Channel ID (used only for syncing between two paired devices)

3.4 Device Token (Optional)

If you enable push notifications, a device token is stored to send you note updates. This token does not identify you personally and can be disabled anytime.

3.5 Usage Data (Non-identifying)

App interactions (e.g., note update timestamps)
Basic diagnostic information for service reliability

4. How We Use Your Information

We use your information only to provide the core functionality of the App:

To match you with another user temporarily
To sync notes and drawings in real time
To update your widget with the latest note
To deliver push notifications (if enabled)
To maintain App performance and reliability

5. Data Storage and Security

Firebase Firestore — used temporarily to store match channel data and notes
Firebase Storage — used for images or drawings
Local Device Storage — used for short-term matching data

All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and stored securely according to industry standards.

6. Data Sharing

6.1 With Your Matched Partner

Only your active match partner can see the notes and drawings you create.

6.2 With Service Providers

We use the following providers to deliver the App’s functionality:

Google Firebase — storage, synchronization, security
Apple Push Notification Service (APNs) — notification delivery

6.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose information if required by law or valid legal request.

7. Data Retention

Active Match: Notes, images, and channel data remain available only while the match is active.
Match Duration: Users can choose a duration between 1 and 12 hours.
When Match Ends: All channel-related data is removed from active systems.
Backups: Temporary technical backups or logs may exist for security but are not used to identify users.

8. Children's Privacy

The App is suitable for users aged 4 and above (App Store rating: 4+). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. International Data Transfers

Data may be processed on servers operated by Firebase (Google), which may be located outside your country of residence. All transfers comply with applicable data protection laws.

If you are located in the EU/EEA, you may exercise the following rights:
